Results: CAF Champions League Quarter finals

The CAF Champions League Quarter finals first leg matches took place Tuesday evening across several venues.
The return matches will be played on Tuesday, 8 April, with the aggregate winner proceeding to the semi-finals.

Reigning African champions Al Ahly secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Al Hilal at the Cairo International Stadium thanks to Mohamed Hany’s strike on 11 minutes to secure a narrow lead against the battle hardened Sudanese outfit.
The evening's only away win was registered at the 5 July 1962 Stadium in Algiers, as South Africa’s Orlando Pirates defeated MC Alger 1-0, courtesy of a goal midway through the second half from Mohau Nkota.
A big win for Pirates who will be confident ahead of the second leg next week.
The biggest winning margin on the night was secured by Egypt's Pyramids FC, who thumped ASFAR 4-1 at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.
The Egyptians netted through Fiston Mayele and Ibrahim Adel, while the Moroccan visitors scored through Abdelfettah Hadraf’s goal.
In Pretoria South Africa, Mamelodi Sundowns edged Esperance de Tunis 1-0 in a tense match characterized by crowd trouble.
The match was decided by a goal early in the second half from Namibian forward Peter Shalulile.
